The Case Centre Awards and Competitions 2019 were distributed at the end of February : Outstanding contribution to the case method, to the teaching, writing, first time writing of a case, or writing of a brief case, and thematic awards were disclosed.
This year, ESSEC Professor Peter O’Connor won the Overall Award, an award existing since 1991, together with his co-authors Jill Avery (Harvard Business School) and Chekitan Dev (Cornell University) for the case Accor: Strengthening the Brand with Digital Marketing. This is a first-time Overall win for ESSEC, which has won three category awards in previous years:
- Coach : To be or not to be Luxury, By Ashok Som won the award in Entrepreneurship in 2011,
- Aditya Birla Group: Redesigning to become a Fortune 500 Company by Ashok Som, won the award in Strategy and General Management in 2006.
- LVMH, Career Development Through International Mobility by Jean-Luc Cerdin, won the award in Human Resource Management / Organisational Behaviour in 2003,
