The past year has seen the publication of 18 articles on the Pedagolab blog. Among the topics covered, we explored subjects as varied as diversity and inclusion, generative artificial intelligence, as well as K-lab initiatives focusing on the digitalization of courses, the development of information literacy and digital skills, and the new Sustainability Case Factory, designed to support the creation of case studies focusing on sustainability. The most widely read article “Creative narratives in the age of AI – The speculative future of short story writing at ESSEC and beyond” is written by Mickael Kouklakis, Director of the Languages and Cultures Department at ESSEC. In this piece, he explores the impact of AI on ESSEC’s annual short story writing competition, highlighting the challenges raised by platforms such as ChatGPT, which threaten the authenticity of creative writing by mimicking the ‘human’ style. At the same time, he calls for a reconsideration of pedagogical approaches to preserve the integrity and creativity of writing.
The second most popular article “The PISA 2022 wake-up call” was written by Anna Pons, OECD project manager and education specialist, following her contribution to one of the educational workshops co-organised by the K-lab and the Dean’s Office. Her article highlights a significant drop in the PISA ranking in 2022, accentuated by the Covid 19 pandemic. It emphasizes the growing importance of developing human skills such as creativity and critical thinking in an educational context that must adapt to the digital age and artificial intelligence.
Finally, in 3rd place among the 3 most-read articles published in 2023/2024, we find “Réapprendre l’imagination” written by ESSEC professor Xavier Pavie. In his article, Xavier Pavie returns to the importance of cross-disciplinarity and the exploration of new perspectives to nurture and develop creativity.

L’année écoulée a vu la publication de 18 articles sur le blog Pedagolab. Parmi les thèmes abordés, nous avons exploré des sujets aussi variés que la diversité et l’inclusion, l’intelligence artificielle générative, ainsi que les initiatives du K-lab, centrées sur la digitalisation des cours, le développement des compétences informationnelles et numériques ou encore la nouvelle Sustainability Case Factory, destinée à soutenir la création d’études de cas axées sur la soutenabilité.
L’article le plus lu est “Creative narratives in the age of AI – The speculative future of short story writing at ESSEC and beyond” écrit par Mickael Kouklakis, Directeur du département des langues et cultures de l’ESSEC. Il y explore l’impact de l’IA sur le concours d’écriture de short stories qui a lieu chaque année à l’ESSEC en soulignant les défis posés par les plateformes comme ChatGPT, qui menacent l’authenticité de la création littéraire en imitant le style “humain”, tout en incitant à repenser les approches pédagogiques pour préserver l’intégrité et la créativité dans l’écriture.
Le second article le plus consulté “The PISA 2022 wake-up call“, a été rédigé par Anna Pons, chef de projet à l’OCDE et spécialiste de l’éducation à la suite de son intervention dans l’un des ateliers pédagogiques co-organisés par le K-lab et le Décanat. Son article met en lumière une baisse significative des résultats du classement PISA en 2022, accentuée par la pandémie de covid 19, tout en soulignant l’importance croissante de développer des compétences humaines telles que la créativité et la pensée critique dans un contexte éducatif qui doit s’adapter à l’ère numérique et à l’intelligence artificielle.
Enfin, en 3ème position des 3 articles les plus lus parus en 2023/2024, nous retrouvons “Réapprendre l’imagination” rédigé par le professeur ESSEC Xavier Pavie. Dans son article, Xavier Pavie revient sur l’importance de la transdisciplinarité et l’exploration de nouvelles perspectives pour nourrir et développer la créativité.
